The Placer County Facilities Management Division is advising commuters in North Auburn of a lengthy road closure at the Placer County Government Center between April 3 and June 5. (NOTE: Closure dates are updated as of April 3 and are subject to change)
Richardson Drive between B Ave. and C Ave. will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday as part of a utilities project that will serve county buildings including the future Health and Human Services Center.
Detours and alternate routes will be posted in various locations throughout the government center that will allow access to government offices and the Animal Services Center. Detour routes include access via Bell and Atwood roads at the north and south ends of the government center.
Bus routes will also be affected, and riders will be directed to use the 1st St. and C Ave. bus stop on the state Route 49 bus route. Placer County Transit will be closing bus stops on F Ave., Richardson Drive and Bell Road.
Visitors to the Animal Services Center are advised to enter via Bell Road, travel south on Richardson and then turn west onto B Street.
Emergency vehicles will be allowed access through the closed portion of roads as necessary.
