Placer County will host a public workshop July 19 to begin seeking input on an update to the Auburn Bowman Community Plan.

Funded by a grant from the Sacramento Area Council of Governments’ Regional Early Action Planning Program, the county is looking to update the plan to facilitate the development of more infill housing and related transportation improvements in the Bowman area.

Workshop details:
What: Auburn Bowman Community Plan Update Community Workshop
When: Tuesday, July 19; 6 p.m.
Where: Community Development Resource Center
3091 County Center Drive
Auburn, CA 95603

Virtual attendance will also be accommodated on Zoom at https://placer-ca-gov.zoom.us/j/95474206661.

The Auburn Bowman Community Plan lays out a vision of creating a healthy and sustainable community that maintains a balance between jobs, housing and community space.

But since the plan's passage in 1994, population, housing and job growth have outpaced development in the Auburn Bowman area.

While the current Auburn Bowman Community Plan identifies capacity for additional housing development, there isn’t enough sewer and water infrastructure capacity there to support it.

Through the Auburn Bowman Community Plan Update, Placer County will continue to implement the original plan's vision by identifying critical infrastructure improvements needed to support the community-envisioned housing supply, improving the clarity of the existing document and identifying barriers to housing construction.

Community members are encouraged to register for the workshop and learn more by visiting the plan update website at https://www.placer.ca.gov/7773/Auburn-Bowman-Community-Plan-Update.
