A message from Sheriff Devon Bell and the Placer County Board of Supervisors

The Placer County Sheriff’s Office is excited to announce the Board of Supervisors has approved body-worn cameras for sheriff’s deputies and correctional officers.

Implementing body-worn cameras has been a priority for Sheriff Devon Bell since he took office in 2017.

“These body-worn cameras will serve as a tool to emphasize the hard work of our deputies and correctional officers, and provide another method of transparency to our community,” said Sheriff Devon Bell.

The sheriff added, “I am confident my staff will continue to uphold the highest level of integrity in accordance with the core values and mission of the Placer County Sheriff’s Office.”

The sheriff’s office expects to launch the $4.8 million program over the next nine months and thanks the Board of Supervisors for funding this crucial initiative.

“I really appreciate and strongly support this program,” said District 5 Supervisor Cindy Gustafson. “We’re 100% behind this as well as our law enforcement officers in getting this program to protect them and  protect our constituents.”
