Placer County welcomes Planning Commission appointments
Updated on January 28, 2021
The Placer County Board of Supervisors this month appointed four county residents to serve on the Placer County Planning Commission.
Anders Hauge was reappointed as the representative for District 5 and Richard Johnson was reappointed to represent the county at large, west of the Sierra Crest. Mr. Johnson previously represented District 3 on the commission.
The Board of Supervisors also appointed two new members. Anthony DeMattei was appointed to represent District 3 as requested by Supervisor Jim Holmes and Daniel Woodward was appointed to represent District 4 as requested by Supervisor Suzanne Jones.
Anthony DeMattei previously served on the Placer County Farm Bureau Board, Placer Union High School Agriculture Advisory Committee, Del Oro High School Agriculture Committee and Sierra College Agriculture Advisory Committee.
Daniel Woodward retired from the U.S. Air Force, where he served as a pilot and general officer. Woodward also retired from General Dynamics information systems, where he worked as vice president.
The four recent appointees join commissioners Samuel Cannon representing District 1, Nathan Herzog representing District 2 and Larry Sevison representing the county at large east of the Sierra Crest.
The Planning Commission is the principal advisory body to the Board of Supervisors on planning and related matters and is tasked with making recommendations on proposed general plans, zoning text amendments and major land development proposals.
The commission is composed of seven members each serving a four-year term: one from each of the five supervisorial districts and two members from the community at large. One at-large member is required to reside east of the Sierra Crest and the other at-large member is required to reside west of the Sierra Crest. All members of the commission are appointed by the board.
The Planning Commission holds public meetings at 10 a.m. on the second and fourth Thursday of every month at the Planning Commission Chambers in North Auburn. Additional information about the commission, future meetings and agendas are available here Headline.
