Homelessness in Placer County

More than 600 men, women, and children are homeless in Placer County on a given night. While this is a lower rate of homelessness than is seen in many other counties across California, Placer’s homeless population has a range of acute challenges:

  • Domestic violence
  • Mental illness
  • Substance use
  • Other

County agencies are working with numerous partners to combat homelessness and its impact on individuals and communities:

  • Community members
  • Faith-based groups
  • Law enforcement
  • Nonprofit organizations
  • Others
