Mountain Housing Council

The Tahoe Truckee Community celebrated the kick-off meeting of the Mountain Housing Council on Saturday at Truckee High School. The effort is a culmination of a Regional Housing Needs Assessment that demonstrated some startling facts about the severity of the crisis, but demonstrates a beginning in the commitment by many to work toward solving the problem. The Placer County Board of Supervisors acted on April 4 to support a $50,000 year/three year commitment to the effort, which aims to connect local agencies, special districts, non-profits and the public sector to solve the critical workforce housing challenge in the region. Other Council participants include the Town of Truckee, Nevada County, Tahoe City Public Utility District, Tahoe Truckee Airport District and non-profit service organizations. Upcoming meeting information will be posted here.
