Placer County offers several programs to help residents of all incomes find and retain housing. These range from rental assistance to home buying assistance to housing reserved for local workers.
Workforce Housing Preservation Program
The Workforce Housing Preservation Program is designed to secure our existing housing inventory for the local workforce. Buyers and developers are eligible for payment in exchange for deed restricting homes so they can only be occupied by local workers. The funding can help homebuyers with down payments or complete renovations.
[ON HOLD] First Time Homebuyer Assistance Program
This program provides flexible second mortgages to help families purchase their first home in the unincorporated areas of Placer County. The First Time Homebuyer Assistance Program loan can help make mortgage payments more affordable.
Placer County has several ongoing housing projects that will increase the availability of housing in order to meet the diverse needs of county residents.
Gateway Commons / Gateway Village
Haldeman Homes is excited to offer brand new craftsmen style homes in Auburn designed for local workers.
Placer County Government Center (PCGC)
The Placer County Government Center Master Plan Update will establish a long-term vision and planning guide for ongoing facilities, which the County intends to employ for capital improvement projects at the PCGC campus with a 20-year planning horizon.
