Welfare Fraud

Welfare fraud is defined as the intentional misuse of public assistance by withholding information or giving false or inaccurate information. Placer County Human Services takes welfare fraud very seriously. The most common types of welfare fraud that occur are:

  • The absent parent is in the home
  • Children are not living in the home
  • Ineligible children
  • Unreported income
