Missing Tahoe’s famed “Dockside Dining?” West Shore Café in Homewood, CA is featured in this week’s episode of “Dockside Dining” airing on the Food Paradise network. Check it out Sunday, December 10 at 9 p.m./8c. Los Angeles based O’Malley Productions filmed for one day at the eatery in September.
Filming in Placer County was the focus of three segments on Ch. 10’s Sacramento news program “Morning Blend”- including a stop at California’s highest bridge, the Foresthill Bridge - to discuss the iconic movie “XXX” car stunt shot there. Media Personality and reporter Mark S Allen spoke with Beverly Lewis, Director of the Placer-Lake Tahoe Film Office, and Gary Davis, veteran director and celebrated stunt coordinator, about why Placer County has been so popular for filming. One big reason - the elevation changes from 90’ to over 9000’ within a 90 minute drive across the county, providing a lot of location options in close proximity. Clips from some of the scores of productions filmed in the county are featured.
