SACRAMENTO BROTHERS SENTENCED TO LIFE
Roman Glukhoy and Ruslan Glukhoy, both 21 years old of Sacramento, were sentenced to life today in relation to the 2014 deaths of Jose and Anahi Tovar. The Honorable Coleen Nichols sentenced Ruslan Glukhoy to life in prison without parole, and Roman Glukhoy was sentenced to 30 years to life in state prison.
The two were found guilty by two separate juries after a nearly two-month trial. Ruslan Glukhoy was convicted of multiple offenses including two counts of First Degree Murder, 187(a) of the Penal Code. Roman Glukhoy, Ruslan’s identical twin brother, was convicted by a separate jury of multiple offenses including two counts of Second Degree Murder, 187(a) of the Penal Code, in the deaths of Anahi Tovar 14 years old and Jose Tovar 35 years old, both residents of Sacramento, on April 2, 2014. In addition to being found guilty of First Degree Murder, Ruslan’s Jury also found true allegations that the murder occurred during the commission of a felony and that there were multiple victims.
