2013 Monthly Project Updates
Work will continue on Auburn Folsom Road, beginning at Twin Rocks Road and proceeding north in the north-bound lane. Construction activities will include with excavating trenches, installing pipe, backfilling and temporary paving. Traffic control will be in place Monday through Saturday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m, except Christmas and New Year’s Day; delays should be anticipated.
Construction activities will resume this month with excavating trenches along the pipeline route, installing sewer pipe, backfilling and temporary paving.
Pipeline construction has been on hold pending resolution of utility conflicts. Construction is anticipated to resume in mid-October. Lane closures along the pipeline route can be expected Monday through Saturday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Work that was anticipated to occur in the roadway during June (saw cutting the roadway to prepare for trenching and pipe installation) has been rescheduled for mid-July to resolve conflicts with existing buried utilities. Work at the WWTP will continue with blasting at the site anticipated for mid to late July. Traffic control will be in place for blasting operation and could result in delays of 20 minutes or more. Updates on traffic control will be provided as they become available.
Construction crews will continue to be in the Auburn Folsom road Right of Way (ROW) this month; laying out the pipeline route and locating utilities in the roadway by potholing (digging small holes in the road). Saw cutting the roadway to prepare for trenching and beginning to install pipe will also take place this month.
Biological surveys along the roadway will continue and additional protective fencing adjacent to the road will be installed.
Crews will be collecting soil and rock samples to prepare for the excavation at the WWTP site and decommissioning select facilities in order to prepare for repurposing those facilities for emergency storage.
Construction crews will be in the Auburn Folsom Road Right of Way (ROW), clearing brush, trimming and/or removing trees, laying out the pipeline route, locating utilities in the roadway by potholing (digging small holes in the road), and saw cutting the roadway to prepare for trenching activities scheduled to begin in late May / early June.
At the WWTP site, crews will begin clearing brush and trees to lay out the wet well and emergency storage facilities for the new pump station.
Biological resource pre-construction surveys will be conducted and protective fencing will be installed around sensitive habitats this month both at the WWTP and along the pipeline route.
Placer County issued the Notice to Proceed to Vinciguerra Construction of Jackson, California on April 29, 2013. Upon contractor's completion of required paperwork and materials delivery, construction is expected to begin in late April / early May.
